This year marked my second time photographing dance portraits for the amazing dancers at Soul to Sole Dance Studio in Walker, Louisiana…and wow, what a difference a year makes!
Not only did we have more dancers, but the energy, confidence, and creativity in the room were off the charts. From the tiniest beginners to seasoned performers, each dancer brought something unique to the camera.
What made this year even more special was seeing familiar faces return-dancers I photographed last year who’ve grown stronger, more expressive, and even more comfortable in front of the lens. And of course, I loved meeting the new dancers, many experiencing their very first portrait session!
Yes,many photos were captured. But once again, I left the studio feeling inspired and thankful for the trust these dancers and families placed in me.
This second year confirmed what I already knew: dqance photography has my heart. Freezing a perfect leap or a joyful twirl is not just about a photo-it’s about preserving a moment of pride, passion, and hard work.
Thank you again, Sole to Soul, for having me back. I can’t wait to share some of my favorite portraits from this year’s sessions!
With gratitude and some full SD cards,
